The perfect villa for families
Villa Santa Rosalia is a glorious pink stuccoed villa with a huge Mediterranean garden filled with pomegranate, fig, jacaranda and orange trees. Converted from the outbuildings of the 17th century Villa Santa Maria next door, it is now a spacious child-friendly country villa. As you walk in, you'll see a sun-yellow dining and living room filled with natural light - the perfect place to relax with one of the books in the very well stocked library, or enjoy a glass of Sicilian Nero D'Avola wine after a day of sightseeing. Also on the ground floor is the well-equipped, Sicilian-style kitchen, while upstairs are four fresh and airy bedrooms - all have air-conditioning (there's the option of a sofa-bed in the downstairs library too). Outside, a vine-covered and romantically-lit pergola is made for al fresco Sicilian meals, and from here you can see the fenced pool area and the outdoor table tennis under the shade of the olive trees. Whether you're a family with children or a group of adults, Villa Santa Rosalia will provide the space and tranquillity of a country villa but with easy access to the town and the beach. Sleeps 8-10.

Rates are for up to 8 people. Two extra people can stay for £100 p/person p/week. An additional studio bedroom can be rented for £350 p/ week.
About The Property
Sleeping up to 10 people, Villa Santa Rosalia is a family-friendly home with plenty of outdoor and indoor space. Surrounded by olive trees and lavender, the pool is fenced in for safety and is in full view from the alfresco dining area.
The grounds
Entrance is via a private road that winds through the surrounding vineyards. The garden is bordered by tall pines and cypress trees and dotted with palms, orange trees, fig, pomegranate and jacaranda trees.
The swimming pool
Surrounded by olive trees, it is just 40 metres from the villa and is visible from the terrace and the kitchen. Measuring 11 x 6 metres, it has steps leading into the shallow end and is surrounded by a sunbathing area equipped with sun loungers and a beach umbrella. A bench under an ancient olive tree nearby provides a refuge from the Sicilian sun. The pool area is surrounded by a fence with a gate, making it completely safe for families with small children.
Inside the villa
The accommodation has been recently redecorated to a high standard and is furnished with an eclectic mix of furniture and ornaments collected by the owners on their travels.
The living area
Entrance is through a large sunny living room with seating for 8 and windows opening onto the garden. A flat screen television provides access to streaming channels such as Netflix and Prime Video. There is also a DVD player with a selection of films and a music centre with a collection of CDs. Guests who like reading will enjoy browsing our large collection of English books, including books for children. The adjoining dining room also seats 8 and has the same lovely view of the garden.
The kitchen/breakfast room
This has air conditioning and is fully equipped with marble worktops, fridge-freezer, oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, filter coffee maker, electric kettle, a wide range of kitchen utensils and electrical appliances and a library of recipe books. The kitchen table has seating for 8 and a window looking out onto the garden with a view of the pool beyond the trees.
The dining terrace
Guests can also dine al fresco beneath a shady pergola covered with grape vines. This is equipped with a portable barbecue, ideal for cooking fish from the local market or the excellent local sausage.
Bedrooms
The villa sleeps 8-10. There is a stair gate on the upper floor. Each of the four bedrooms is air-conditioned and the windows are fitted with mosquito netting. Two bedrooms have queen size double beds and the other two have twin beds. All the bedrooms have beautiful views onto the garden.
All three bathrooms are very spacious and newly renovated, one with a large tub and powerful overhead shower, and two with walk in shower units.
There is also an adjoining studio with sofa bed on the ground floor, which may be rented for an additional charge. With the use of the adjacent bathroom, this is a useful option for any guests who have difficulty with stairs.

“A fantastic week at Santa Rosalia! From the very first moment (arriving late and tired) Nannette welcomed us warmly and we were immediately struck by the spaciousness and ambience of the villa. We were delighted by the villa's decor and we felt in a holiday mood from the very beginning. The private pool gave us hours of endless pleasure and we loved the villa so much we rarely ventured far. There were however several trips into Mazara for dinner and a day at the beach. There is plenty of good quality baby equipment and cooking facilities - including 2 BBQs (which we made good use of). We couldn't have asked for a better holiday and would highly recommend a stay there.

"So relaxing and comfortable."
Santa Rosalia is so spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool is fab. We loved the planting around it with the retention of the ancient olive trees. The wafts of lavender and rosemary on the breeze were wonderful. Loved the table tennis table. So relaxing and comfortable. Great spaces indoor and out in a quiet location but easy access to the local town and restaurants. Excellent links to the main roads. So good to be in a less overtly tourist area. We loved spending time in Mazara del Vallo, sitting at cafes, getting a feel of the place.
